One-Night Only: Cashmere & Vicuna

The 17th of March, 2023, was one for the books. Common Suits Manila hosted a one-of-a-kind gathering in celebration of the beauty, rarity, and luxury of two of the world's most treasured materials, the Vicuna wool and Cashmere fabric. More than an unveiling, the evening was an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the beauty of the fabrics, and to witness Loro Piana's unwavering commitment to excellence.

Guest speakers Paulo (Loro Piana - Italy) and Javin They (Common Suits - Singapore) flew down to the Philippines to share the artistry and skill in their side of creation: Everything from the shearing of the delicate fibers to processing at the mills to the hand-stitching of the final product. It truly was a learning experience that elevated the appreciation for the beauty of these rare fabrics and each brand's unwavering commitment to luxury craftsmanship.

The main event: The presentation of the fabrics.

Loro Piana and Common Suits took advantage of the event to showcase the Zenit collection on top of the Cashmere, and highly anticipated Vicuña.

The highlight of the evening: Loro Piana's Vicuña fabric being in the Philippines for the first time. This fine fibre is a product of collaboration between Loro Piana and the locals of Andes, who care for the rare vicuña species. Because of its unparalleled quality and history with Peruvian royalty, the locals have dubbed it “Fibre of the Gods.”

This was the only opportunity for former clients (and now friends) to fit, feel and admire the stunning pieces made with the sought-after fabric.

More than that, this also served as an opportunity for everyone to relax and mingle over over gourmet cocktails.

The atmosphere was lively and energetic, and there was a real sense of excitement in the air as guests shared their passion for the craft.

Overall, the Cashmere & Vicuna event was truly a night to cherish. Attendees had the chance to see and feel the rare fabrics, connect with the craftsmen, as well as enjoy cocktails and good company. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate their love for the craft, along with the timelessness, elegance and joy it comes with.
